Life Insurance

The big question we get everyday from our customers is “How do I know what health class I fall under when looking at life insurance?”.

Life insurance companies use life expectancy charts as the basis for determining rates.

Anything that could shorten your life expectancy could lead to a higher price. After an underwriter reviews your health history, they will determine what is called an underwriting class.  These classes generally go from Preferred Plus (best class), to Standard (average class), to Table Rated (substandard health).  The process of this will normally include a medical exam, blood/urine samples, and then, if the underwriter requests it, your medical records.  This all may sound like a long process, and it can be, but, with a complex medical history, this is what is needed for them to make a decision on your application

We can help with the process

by ensuring all signatures are in the correct place, all forms are received, and all administrative requirements are in place, to prevent any delays leading to the underwriting requirements mentioned above.

For clients that are healthy, some of the guidelines may be able to be avoided, such as an exam and medical records.  There are various carriers that will waive exams and even medical records, if you fall within their guidelines to do so.  This can significantly save time, and allow you to have a decision within just a couple of days, if not less.

Keeping in mind this type of process will be for individuals with less complex medical history, but, there are cases where regardless of your health, you can be considered for these types of processes.

So it’s smart to buy a life insurance policy as early as possible,

when you’re young and healthy.  If you wait, your life insurance quotes will increase solely because of your age.  If new health problems arise, your rates could go up even more.

You can still get life insurance if you have a medical condition.  Insurance companies vary in how they view pre-existing conditions, and some types of life insurance don’t require a medical exam.

A great option for a more healthy individual would be applying with Bestow.  You can apply and get coverage the same day.

If a customer is more on the unhealthy side it is not so simple.  You have to take into consideration your health and what risk the insurance company is going to take.

The more unhealthy you are the more expensive the rates,  and the longer it will take to apply for life insurance, but most people are able to qualify for some type of insurance.

This is why you should contact us as we are experts in placing hard to place cases.
